The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Occupational Health and Safety Board Meeting was Held
The Veterinary Faculty Occupational Health and Safety Board meeting, which is secretariat-led by our Coordinatorship, was held under the chairmanship of the Dean of the Veterinary Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ziya İLHAN, with the participation of board members.
Our university adopts the primary goal of creating a sustainable and safe working environment for its employees, students, and especially its technical staff who come into contact with animals, with the motto "people first, health first, safety first." In this context, the board meeting discussed in detail the risks specific to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the measures to be taken.
During the meeting, the following critical issues were discussed with the aim of raising occupational safety standards to the highest level within the Faculty:
Biosafety Procedures: Management of zoonosis risks in clinical and laboratory environments and monitoring of biosafety levels.
Clinical Risk Management: Individual protective measures to be taken in operational processes at the animal hospital and updating emergency action plans.
Training and Information: Planning mandatory Occupational Health and Safety training for newly hired staff and students.
Regulatory Compliance Process: Review of necessary audits to ensure full compliance with relevant legal regulations.
Our Coordinatorship and our University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Occupational Health and Safety Board will continue their determined efforts to develop an occupational health and safety culture. The meeting ended with the hope that mutual exchange of views and cooperation will be increased.
