Occupational Health and Safety Training for Students at the Faculty of Health Sciences
The University's Occupational Health and Safety Coordinatorship organized an "Occupational Health and Safety Training" for students at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The training was conducted with presentations by Assistant Coordinator and Occupational Safety Specialist Dilara ÖZESMER and Workplace Physician Dr. Özgür GÖRGÜLÜ.
The program discussed the primary risks that healthcare professionals may encounter and the measures that can be taken to mitigate these risks. Students were provided with comprehensive information on topics such as biological risks, sharps injuries, infection risk, ergonomics, chemical substances, fire safety, and violence against healthcare workers, as well as stress management.
The training also emphasized the critical importance of occupational health and safety culture in terms of professional success in healthcare professions and patient safety. The program concluded with answering students' questions and sharing awareness-raising information.
